5 ‘Out of the Box’ Mehendi themes!

The regular Genda Phool Mehendi has been overdone, don’t you think? The regular yellows and reds are not your thing?
We’ve got you covered. Read on to check out our 5 totally ‘out of the box’ Mehendi themes.

1. Personalize your décor
It doesn’t get any more unique than this because you are one of a kind!
Personalize your décor for your Mehendi, tell your story through pinning your photos right from the start of your relationship,
from the days you were friends and the journey all the way through for others to see how you and your relationship have grown.
You can also tell you story by incorporating elements of the cities you met at throughout your décor.
Quirky little details from the first date to the first movie you watched together as a couple, the possibilities are endless!

2. Base your theme on your favorite movie/ Book/ show
The beauty of conceptualizing your Mehendi on your favorite fictional theme is that the take away you have from it might be uniquely your own!
You can have your guests dress up as characters from the movie/ book of your choice and have a dress up party! That would make for some fun photos.
The décor could incorporate scenes from the movie or follow the era the movie is set in.
Again endless possibilities for you to work with and be unique!

3. Origami and pastels
Well if you’re not into picking your Mehendi theme from a book, we do have other ideas on how to put those pages to use.
Origami is a fun theme to have for your Mehendi and this works fantastically both indoors and outdoors!
You can have paper cranes in a variety of pastel colours strung through your venue. Paper cranes are known to bring good luck, so that’s an added benefit!
But, if you adventurous you can go with an array of origami structures and also have your guests try their hands at it and you can add them to your décor.
The combination of origami and pastels paired with natural furniture gives a beautifully intimate vibe to your Mehendi and
work together to create a one of a kind celebration.

4. Folk themes
Pastels not your thing? Go the other way on the spectrum. GO BOLD! Bring elements of Indian folk into play.
There’s a lot that Indian folk has to offer from folk prints to Kachchi Ghodi dances.
You can have your guests use traditional printing methods to print on scarfs and keep them as a unique keepsake!
Kachchi Ghodi dancers can be used as welcoming aspects and the outfits can be used as fun photo props.
Live folk music played in tandem with your DJ will add to the folk vibe of your Mehendi.

5. Go Thai
Go international with your theme. Thai inspired celebrations have so much to offer. The most important thing to remember while going for a
Thai themed Mehendi is, to bring the authentic island energy. The easiest way to create a tropical island feel is to make use of fresh leaves,
flowers and fruit in your décor. You can make spectacular and unique centerpieces, that people can tuck into by incorporating pineapples,
watermelons, star fruit, bananas, melons & dragon fruit as part of your table decor.
Thailand is not only famous for its island vibe but also for its heavenly massages, you can have masseuses at your
Mehendi to give out quick shoulder and foot rubs to your guests which will get them back on the dance floor in no time.
No Thai themed celebration is complete without the food! You can incorporate live cooking stations
and work with your chefs to create unique Indo Thai dishes just for you!

Hope you took inspiration from our out of the box ideas and create your perfectly unique, perfectly you Mehendi!
