Real Weddings – Shaun & Prerna

The month of November 2019 saw one of the most glamorous wedding celebrations to be held in the city of Dubai (UAE). With over 400 guests in attendance from different parts of the world, Prerna and Shaun’s wedding celebration was no short of a showcase in every possible way.

The wedding was held at the massive hospitality complex of Habtoor City which comprises of 3 world class hotel properties. While all the guests were hosted at the opulent Habtoor Palace, the events were spread across venues at Hilton, V Hotel and Habtoor Palace.

Planned, conceptualized and managed by Vivaah Weddings, one of the largest wedding planning company in the region, the celebrations took almost a year of planning in the making. Each event was thought through in detail and curated to perfection. Everything from guest experience to service staff attire in addition to culinary offerings was on priority all along.

Prerna – the Bride and Shaun – the Groom are film directors by profession and they’re perfectionists. Much like a movie, they like everything to be picture perfect. Except at weddings, there isn’t a second take at it. Hence, every minute detail was attended to by professionals at all levels.

Since the wedding celebrations lasted 3 days, the bride and groom wanted to present each event in a different theme and setting. Prerna and Shaun wanted to depict that their love is ‘Timeless’ – beyond the limitations of the Past or the Future.

Carefully curated and detailed in their approach, Vivaah Weddings conceptualized everything from the décor to entertainment, food and beverage as well as event staff costumes which were customized to fit the theme of each of the events.

Each event was conceptualized in a different Era.

The Welcome Dinner was called ‘Arabesque Haveli’ which transported guests back into the medieval times to the Maharaja Era. The décor, seating style, the outfits as well as the entertainers were carefully handpicked to suit and fit the theme of the evening. Folk artists and ancient Arabian handicrafts were part of a traditional souk.

Following this event, the guests truly experienced an out of this world celebration at ‘The Interstellar Afterparty’ where the venue was converted into a large Space Station where Astronauts would serve light bites and drinks all night. With an Intergalactic theme to the décor, Dance floor, Bar and Artists, this celebration was truly out of this world.

On the second day, the Mehendi Afternoon was called ‘Under the Sea’ which was hosted at the pool side taking guests into a different realm where the bride was revealed from inside an Oyster and interactive artists such as Mermaids floated in the waters at the venue. This is the celebration where the bride and her bridesmaids get their hands painted with Henna.

The evening saw a mega song and dance extravaganza at the Sangeet Evening which was truly a surreal affair. The theme of the evening was beyond imagination and constantly challenging the mind. ‘The Magic Heart Hotel’ was a fusion of illusions, large interactive sets as well as quirky entertaining artists largely inspired by The Grand Budapest Hotel. Several international Bollywood artists headlined the stage performances before the DJ opened the dance floor to a session that lasted till the early hours of the morning.

The wedding ceremony took place on the third day. The Wedding Pheras were inspired by ‘Vintage Bombay’ from the British Era which saw hints of the grandeur of the Victorian style columns and walkways that led to the gorgeous Mandap.

Finally, the Reception Evening was ‘A Full Bloom’ that saw deep red roses all throughout the venue with a touch of Gold.

Overall, the 3-day celebration was a delight to watch as guests would wait anxiously and in anticipation of the next theme to be revealed.
